The solar eclipse causes the shadows cast by leaves to reflect the shape of the eclipse. How is this possible? Small openings between objects such as tree leaves act like pinhole camera apertures. These allow light rays from different parts of the partially obscured Sun to create an enlarged image of the Sun on the ground. Mixed Media Madness 2pm. Walter Edward Cox born March 29, 1948 known professionally as Bud Cort, is known for his unorthodox starring roles in Robert Altman's Brewster McCloud (1970) and Hal Ashby's Harold and Maude (1971). In 1991 Cort directed and stared in Ted & Venus, cowritten with Paul Ciotti and featuring an all-star cast. The original music was composed by David Robbins and Swamp Dog contributed many background pieces. Pamela Burton had the opportunity to talk with Bud Cort when Ted & Venus premiered in Los Angeles. The second half of the program is a segment of Living in the USA podcast 10.28.91 when historian Jon Weiner talks with Adam Shatz about discovered John Coltrane Seattle concert. We end with 2 tunes including Love Supreme from Seattle Concert and Lady Day & John Coltrane by Gil Scott Heron. Lady Day’s birthday is approaching.
